Monitoring is a critical part of any distribution network. Enetics has a wide array of products to solve all of your monitoring needs.

With multiple options for sampling and uploading data, as well as configurable alarm settings, you'll have peace of mind, knowing that your distribution network is working as intended or, if there's an issue, fast alarm notifications will let you know where there's a problem before it becomes critical.

Remote Monitoring

Enetics utilizes the global LTE Cat M1 cellular network, allowing data to be uploaded to the EneticsEDGE cloud automatically. No need to send personnel to retrieve data. And if there's an alarm condition detected during routine sampling, the RTU doesn't wait until the next call cycle; it calls immediately.

Blind Spots

Do you have blind spots in your distribution network? No utility can afford to install SCADA everywhere they would like, it's simply too expensive and manpower intensive. Enetics RTUs can affordably turn blind spots into valuable data points. Enetics provides all the tools you need to know exactly what's happening in your network pipelines.

Flow Monitoring

The GasComm Sensor Array can measure both flow velocity and volume, without the need for power drops or radio network infrastructure installations, providing you with key details about your distribution network. GasComm is a patented, single-node sensor, hot tapped into active 4" to 18" distribution pipelines. GasComm provides remote, self-powered monitoring of flow velocity and volume, static pressure, temperature, humidity, and, optionally, vibration inside your pipelines.

Slam Shuts / Contact Closures

Slam shut valves are a common way to clamp off network flow when assets are not performing to spec. But the complexity of today's distribution networks doesn't allow a simple pressure measurement to determine whether a valve is open or closed.  And if that valve is not being SCADA monitored, you really don't truly know the surplus headroom capacity of your natural gas network on any given day. That can be a real problem during the heating season.  Enetics RTUs can monitor the position of a slam shut valve or other contact closure activated instrument for over 5 years without a site visit. Any change in valve position triggers a cellular alarm call to the EneticsEDGE dashboard, sending emails and SMS text messages right away to let you know when and where the valve activation occurred.  No more roaming teams checking valve positions, freeing up field personnel to focus on more important issues.

Temperature

Monitoring the temperature of your distribution network goes hand in hand with monitoring the pressure regulators. All of our pressure sensors also provide accurate temperature readings from the field.

Pressure Regulators

Regulators are critical in a distribution network. A faulty regulator may cause pressures to drop or spike, which can lead to dangerous conditions. Slow regulator drift is hard to detect without long term trend data to examine. Enetics' RTU's are dual channel instruments, allowing both sides of a regulator to be monitored simultaneously, trending and always checking for alarm conditions. And with remote, over-the-air programmable alarm thresholds, you'll be notified immediately of any problems, so you can keep your network running smoothly.

End-of-Line

The end-of-line pressure is always a good monitoring point to verify network health and also to allow system modelers to better capture the system surplus capacity under heavy load.  If the end-of-line is an issue, you know there are many other pending issues upstream. Enetics self-powered pressure monitoring RTUs operate without user interaction for up to five years, capturing long term trend performance and always watching for alarm conditions. .
