VERIFI: Real-time Pressure Visibility During Repairs, Without Someone at the Gauge

Crews don't always have the luxury of standing at a gauge during active pipe repairs. When visibility drops, confidence and safety can drop with it.

Enetics VERIFI delivers real-time pressure visiblity across the job-site, even when crews are working beyond line-of-sight. Remote monitoring helps teams identify issues sooner, protect neighboring infrastructure, and make safer decisions during natural gas pipeline repairs.

Pressure Monitoring

During distribution pipeline repairs and maintenance one of the ongoing concerns is disruption of service to nearby neighborhoods and distant communities. Most utilities use the "eyes on every gauge" method to assure pressure remains for these neighbors. Enetics has introduced the VERIFI method of pressure validation that uses a Pipe-to-cloud-to-cellphone App methodology. This system captures pressure sensor data at an unlimited number of sites, regardless of the distance from the actual repair location,  and uses the Enetics VERIFI RTUs with cellular telemetry to send this pressure data to the Enetic cloud servers.  In the cloud, the analytics monitor for alarm conditions, battery status, cellular signal strength and other system metadata. This data is then sent down to the EneticsVERIFI cellphone App in real-time. Anyone with login credentials can monitor pressure conditions and receive alarms from all sites simultaneously.  Management can also monitor the same pressure remotely from anywhere using either the same VERIFI cellphone App or by logging into the EneticsVERIFI.com website. All repair pressure data is stored in the cloud permanently by Job name and completed Jobs can be reviewed and reports generated at any time from the website.

Real-Time Readings

The EneticsVERIFI cellphone App allows you to view the status of all active VERIFI RTU's at once, giving you live one second pressure updates from all active RTU's. The App provides clear and concise pressure values for each RTU as well as audible alarm notifications.  If any VERIFI RTU warns of a low battery while an active repair is underway, rather than stopping the RTU to change the battery, the user can switch the RTU into the battery saver mode using the VERIFI cellphone App. This reduces the pressure reporting frequency from once per second to once every thirty seconds for that particular RTU, increasing the battery lifetime by a factor of three. Hot swapping of the battery is also possible where necessary.
