The LM-3431-A portable three phase analyzer / recorder is fully Class A compliant with the IEC 61000-4-30 power quality standards. Class A measurement methodology allows operators to easily identify and isolate power system problems and anomalies with confidence.

Intended to be installed outdoors or indoors, the LM-3431-A is packaged in a rugged, compact polypropylene IP67 protective case with provisions for locking that can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +70°C.

Data is stored in both internal non-volatile flash memory and up to 32GB of removable SD card memory. Standard USB or optional Bluetooth local serial communications allows easy pre-installation configuration setup or operational verification. The cellular LTE/M1 telemetry option provides a convenient and cost-effective way to transport data to SQL-based cloud servers, reducing the number of on-site visits. Configuration changes and firmware updates can be accomplished either locally or over the air.

The LM-3431-A provides 600 VAC, three phase monitoring with remote alarm exceedance notifications. Three voltage channels (Phases A,B,C) and four current channels (Phases A,B,C, Neutral) are sampled simultaneously at a rate of 128 samples per cycle at 60 Hz. Per IEC 61000-4-30 Class A specifications, the LM-3431-A provides computational intervals of three seconds, 10 minutes and two hours in addition to many other interval durations.

The unit records more than 30 energy parameters including voltage, current, kW, kVAR, kVA, line frequency, true and displacement power factors for each leg and total, and both the single-cycle minimum and maximum values for each user defined averaging interval. Time stamps are Internet synchronized.
In addition to voltage and current magnitudes, dip and swell events, individual phase harmonics, interharmonics, and total harmonic distortion (THD%) are also captured. Enetics analytic software is included and can present data in both chart graph and report formats in Excel formats, eliminating software compatibility issues. Raw Excel data provides further flexibility for post processing and data analysis.
The LM-3431-A samples and calculates 1/2 cycle Vrms values and implements the prescribed digital filtering and processing per IEC 61000-4-15 standards to provide the requisite Pst and Plt perceptibility parameters for each phase of the line. These parameters provide a standardized, well adopted measure of flicker to assist in troubleshooting customer complaints.
The LM-3431-A software contains:
  • PowerScapeTM Software - Configuration and management of all recorders in the field; data is automatically retrieved remotely from designated sites via cellular data communication or locally via laptop USB connection or 32GB SD memory card.
  • The SQL Database - User queries from within Excel are used to generate graphical and tabular data reports.
  • Excel Macros - Built-in user query dialogues for file-based data archives available from within Excel are used to generate graphical and tabular data reports. Charting and reporting routines including drag, zoom and panning features to simplify and enhance visual presentation of collected data.
  • The combination of a SQL database and Excel spreadsheet capabilities allows simple, well understood navigation of the data and provides simple data sharing among a wide rage of users.
